Life skills

We recognise that young people in our care are going through the most important phase of transition and as such need guidance, support, and flexibility within all aspects of their growth and development. For us, it is important for each young person to be able to transition from semi-independent to independent living seamlessly. This is carried out through;

Supporting and guiding within all aspects of semi-independent living. Assisting and promoting the key aspects and skills required to enable young people to adapt to change.

Supporting with education, food shopping, budgeting, job seekers allowance and advising what the different benefits are. To assist the young person to understand the process when bidding for accommodation. Helping to organise and assist in activities. As well as providing support and advocacy. Assisting in devising, implementing and reviewing pathway plans.

Supporting young people to actively contribute to the running of their budgeting and encourage the type of food to purchases that are nutritious. As well as introducing young people to a range of facilities and amenities in the local neighbourhood and wider community.
